Her callsign was “Avenger”, it’s written on the side of her jet.
It wasn't a cat, it was a flerken
Captain Marvel soaked up the energy after shooting the tesseract
Originally the skrulls were the advanced ones and discovered a primitive Kree. The skrulls sent ambassadors that the Kree took as invaders and attacked. The kree stole the tech off the bodies, the skrull sent warriors, war started.
My favortie strong female lead is Beatrix Kiddo.
My mother often watches movies that have an impact on cinema. Such as Jaws, Jurassic Park, Titanic, Black Panther, BvS (fight me), and especially Wonder Woman. I asked her about this Captain Marvel and she said, “I don’t need to see that movie, I saw Wonder Woman.”
"If you want a strong woman to head up The Avengers, GREAT have at it Black Widow."That aint happening now
I’m pretty sure in one of the movies he has an eye it just doesn’t work why is he looking at glass eyes?? He has an eye it just doesn’t work but yeah on a scale of 1-10 I’d give this movie like a 5.2
couldn't get into this movie at all. each to their own though
I thought she was too arrogant in the movie, I get they’re trying to make her look strong but it came out as annoying instead. Black widow or Peggy Carter are strong women but they aren’t arrogant or at least not as much as Captain Marvel
Looks like I need to put Captain Marvel on my list of movies that I love that everybody else hates but that's okay. It won't be alone there.
It never seemed hated as a movie, but people dislike brie more than the movie. I thought it was pretty okay, but when your coming off great comic movies it seems disappointing.
Does Captain Marvel age? Why is she so young in endgame?
Who’s Vanessa? Lol it’s fun to find out more about Jeremy
His girlfriend who lives with him.
4:47: "Avenger" is Danver's in flight call name. Every military pilot has one for clear, instant communication while in flight. Possible to have two Smiths or Jones in a flight or group. It's stenciled on the aircraft because pilots are assigned a specific plane as are the ground crews.
2:26 phase 1 was all about the tesseract😂
Carol 'Avenger' Danvers It's in big white capital letters on the side of the plane. lol Almost impossible to miss.
Beatrice Kido, aka The Bride from Kill Bill
Larson completely sucked as the lead. By far the worst actor in every scene. It was beyond wooden, its definitely the worst of the mcu movies
Was it just me or was there more going on between carol and Rambeau than just friends? It’s cool either way just thought I saw something
This movie was horrible
Still kind of peeved about that cat thing. Let’s just pretend that didnt happen so I don’t get a headache when I watch winter solider again.
You definitely nailed most of my problems with this movie, especially the cat "stealing" the movie. Plus it just cheapened and trivialized so many things...like tough-ass Nick Fury cooing over a cat and singing into a dish brush...or the actual handling of the Tesseract, for another. In First Avenger, if someone touched, they melted and got shot to Vormir, but Carol just picks it up like a Rubik's Cube. Red Skull had to transport it in a special device, but here they just throw it in a Fonzie lunchbox. It's like anything for a joke, even if it craps on stuff and characters from the other movies...
black widow dies lol would be hard to have her lead
Why are people able to handle the Tesseract now like it's no big deal? In Captain America the Red Skull wasn't able to hold it and it burned through the floor of the plane. Now they're just throwing it into a lunch box?
The way Nick Fury lost his eye is the worst shit ever, and how The Avengers got their name was also, shit.
1:32 *Cough* *Cough* Iron Man 3 *Cough *Cough*
The Avenger is the name of her jet.
I don't understand that how she is so powerful cuz she got her powers from tesseract that means tesseract is more powerful then her that means she is not that powerful i guess that if they would have stick to the comics then it might have been acceptable and also Scarlett witch also got her powers from the mind stone . It is not an anti feminist thing it's just that they made so much hype about this character which made it less lovable. That's why wonder woman does it better they didn't publicized about how powerful she is or she is a feminist i guess that they portrayed that in the movie well thanks to petty Jenkins for that . Also thor is still most powerful character in the mcu because if you check the powers on the marvel website there they didn't checked her powers with the thor . And i liked captain Marvel in Avengers Endgame then in her own movie well i guess Jeremy have pointed that out why is that 😆
Should've been directed by the Russos
I get the feeling that Captain Marvel was contradictional and wasn't entirely necessary. But that's just my opinion.
Captain Marvel’s first movie reminds me of how I felt about Thor’s first movie. I was not full sucked into the idea of Hemsworth being Thor, despite his physique, but I was convinced by the time I watched the Avengers and especially since Ragnorak. Same thing with Doctor Strange...he was alright in his debut film, but I was fully convinced of his character in Infinity War. Brie Larson will own Captain Marvel in due time, but the writers have to figure out what works for her.
Whats more of a threat the Destroyer or a couple of skrulls that turn out to be not a threat(good). I mean the bad guy didn't come until the end. She did a good job at keeping it quiet being that they were fighting in the ozone or something. Judy was in the dessert so...it was kinda kept under wraps. I think the Destroyer did more damage and was more out in the open. So yea.
There was a picture nick fury had of Carol danvers next her plane, or a plane that said "avenger" on it. I thought it worked was pretty cool
But I mean it wasnt just a normal cat memba? It was a flerken that ate people with giant tentacles coming out of its mouth lol I get it though. I thought it was funny "it's just a scratch" Ben mendelsohn *shakes head* "No" lmao
The biggest retcon to me was when fury said he was with shield. In the first iron man Colson says they’re working on the title, then tells pepper to ‘just call us shield’. That either makes colson look like an idiot for not knowing the acronym for the government agency he works for, or it makes everyone he works with an asshole for not telling him.
Everything else besides the “I’m just a girl” was great...maybe I felt that way about this movie because I watched the movie without any of that feminist vs anti-PC bullshit in mind. I think it fits in above mediocre MCU movies but below the incredible MCU movies.
Worst MCU movie ever fosho. The was no connection with any of the characters for me tbh. Even the directors don't have chemistry between them, they are soooo awkward together.
Captain Marvel was a lame movie overall. Making female characters be badasses is fine but when they don't earn it and are instantly more powerful than everyone it just comes off cheap and political. I don't go to movies to have politics rammed down my throat. Captain Marvel had an overt left wing feminist idealogy that was very simplistically rammed down throats.
I actually liked it, no wasn't the best acting, and not true to the story, but it wasn't bad.
That Eye Shit was...Bad
Exactly how hyper are you??
Sam Jackson was like , let me collect the paycheck , See ya :)
The Tesseract ended up with S.H.I.E.L.D. sometime after WWII.Project Pegasus was a joint S.H.I.E.L.D./US Air Force project, as this movie and the first Avengers movie showed. The Tesseract was, from what is shown, virtually central to Project Pegasus. That's how Mar-Vell came across it, and she developed the Light Speed Engine from it.PS: also.. it's _not_ a cat. I mean, it looks exactly like one, but it's _not_ a cat.I get why you'd feel that way about the eye scratch; I tend to agree. But the movie makes it _very_ clear that Goose is _not_ really a cat, so there's that.
*this movie was terrible*. Smh regret watching it. What made it worse was brie Larson acting!!!!
Captain Marvel seemed very unnatural to me. The way she looked an enemy and her posture was very robotic. I do not understand the reason made most of the female characters be like a badass man, and not as a badass woman. But I do not think that is Larsen's mistake. So I think I will go with Wonder Woman... she is a badass, powerful, emotional and loveable woman.
Me too. Saw it yesterday. It was terrible and shitty acting from brie Larson.
1:47 Jude Law is a Dick...
Nick Fury said at the end of Iron Man that Tony Stark wasn't the only superhero.
Hulk came out after Iron Man. I was saying they could use that to tie in the fact that he had prior knowledge of superpowered beings.
In fury's defense the cat FUCKING! ate people. ALOT OF PEOPLE!!
Basically the avengers is based off her name basically the avengers is her team 🤘🏼😁
Carol "Avenger " Danvers
Coincidentally both ripely and Sarah Connor we’re both written by James camron at one point 😂
yeah the plane had avengers on it
The cree and the Scrulls and all of that just screamed Star Trek to me. It felt like a Star Trek storyline.
Who cares how she absorbed the core’s powers. Banner absorbed Gamma radiation and became super powerful as well. There’s never logic for this stuff.
In my mind, this movie, and all the events in it never have happened, and Captain Marvel was introduced way better in Endgame. And this movie disregard everything that came before it, its so underwhelming..
I STILL can't believe just how disappointing this film was. Not because of the poor acting on Brie Larson's part or the stupidity in how he lost his eye, or hell even the lack of any real connection to End game or the rest of the MCU for that matter in all honesty. The reason this film was disappointing to ME was double1: They introduce new characters that are never brought back for End Game, not a single Skrull was brought back. Not one. Not a single damn one. Hell, no other characters from the Kree come to aid the Avengers considering their ties to the Guardians of the Galaxy AND Captain Marvel. 2: there was literally 0 reason for this movie to freaking exist. 0 actual reason for this movie to exist. This movie felt like a filler episode of Naruto or Bleach or any other damn several hundred long episode anime. NOTHING...HAPPENS.....Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING. The Skrull get found out, they appeal to Captain Marvel's heroic side, she saves them and helps them find a new home. End. No major big baddie. no REAL struggle for her what so ever. NOTHING. And then as I said, no direct connection anything else happening in the MCU beyond Nick Fury and the damn beeper she gives him. Thus NOTHING WORTH GIVING A DAMN ABOUT, HAPPENS IN THIS DAMN MOVIE. It was a waste of time and money for all involved. This was by far the WORST MCU movie to date because it had great potential, it had great expectations as the first female lead MCU movie ever combined with the single most powerful MCU character being the lead role. Nothing about this movie was great, hell nothing about it was even GOOD. it was boring and drawn out at times, while at other times far too rushed to even realize what happened let alone giving us enough time to care about what had just happened. This was just so much a disappointment. What's worse is Iron Man 2 and 3 were considered to be the worst MCU movies for the longest time, and yet, they're still far more watchable than Captain Marvel is because they are sequels to an already amazing first film and while they weren't great and at times weren't even GOOD, they had something to take away from them in terms of the greater picture that being the MCU and even then THE ACTING WAS STILL GOOD, THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE STILL GOOD, THE PLOTS WHILE PAINFUL BECAUSE THEY WERE KINDA GOING AGAINST THE SOURCE MATERIAL MADE SENSE WITHIN THE CURRENT MCU BUBBLE THEY CREATED. UGH!the 10000000% agree, DC did this WAY better.
RoseFrom Titanic is a great female character
You're nitpicking, Jeremy. Could just as easily say that Fury pointed to Thor as an example of an extra-terrestrial threat. Yeah he didn't instantly spill about Carol Danvers (engage sarcasm) like he has always instantly spilled about everything right throughout these 22 movies in the most disingenuous fashion? I like your channel Jeremy but you are bringing an agenda to this review and it's not attractive, dude.
I am a flerken person, and I can tell you that the flerken definitely did not steal the movie.
