    That’s why the Egyptians used hieroglyphs. You remember faster. Draw less, remember more or wright and I let anyone to continue my sentence…………………………

    Drawing helps memorization I guess because it involves quite a lot of senses at the same time:
    1. fine motricity skills that help keep focus;
    2. visual stimulae, you see something emerge, you create that's usefull, so you get rewards for that in your limbic brain system in the form of hormone shots that give rise to the natural learning drive;
    3. auditory: you draw wath you hear the other person talked/is talking about.
    4. .. anybody wants to take over? :)

    One of the best Ted Talks. What film editor can improve next time: keep focus on Graham's board instead of cutting into audience shots. (to make it even easier to follow along)

    with a pen on paper - not to necessary keep the paper, but just to be able to
    memorized them through the visual and practical writing of them on the paper.

    Sorry, but this is ridiculous. Everybody knows this. I've been using pictures like this to remember almost since I can remember. It's a very useful method but it doesn't always work. The more complicated a topic gets, the harder it is to find pictures. It will work in school etc but when it comes to certain areas of German civil law for example, you'll reach the limits of this method.

    I have been struggling to learn Arabic for the past 10+ years and recently I started drying images on my vocabulary cards in order to teach English and I also wrote the Arabic translation of the English words and guess what. I remembered Arabic vocabulary the next day and the day after and a week after and now I can use it in a real conversation as well. Now I tell all of my English students to draw images in order to remember words and they also remember. Now my students love me and praise me for teaching them English that have been trying to learn for decades here in panama but can't seems to learn it.
