Suck-swallow exercise

  • Published on Apr 14, 2015
  • This exercise increases coordination of the swallow. Using exaggerated movements of the tongue and jaw, pretend you are sucking a really thick milkshake through a very thin straw. Do this motion for several seconds then swallow hard. You may need to take a drink of water between repetitions. Repeat this 5-10 times as indicated by your speech therapist.
