I don't know what they're talking about, this summer has been great to me. Every film I've been excited to see this summer, (John Wick: Chapter 3, Rocketman, Aladdin, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Dark Phoenix, Men In Black: International, Toy Story 4, Yesterday & Spider-Man: Far From Home) has been good to amazing. The one's I was on the fence about, (Long Shot, Pokemon, The Hustle, Brightburn, Ma, Late Night, Shaft, Annabelle Comes Home & Child's Play) were ok to a waste of time, with the exception of Booksmart which was amazing. So yeah, it's been a great summer to me.

Worked with a guy once with crazy nostril hairs...didnt want to make him cry, he was cool apart from that, got a cute girl from work that owed me a favour to subletly mention something on his face, made him aware of it.. It made him very conscious of it and he never had them again, he seemed happier!...do the same thing with the bio thing, it could work if done right!!

The lack of original content is catching up with Hollywood. Lion King & Aladdin - the live action versions, Toy Story 4, Secret Life of Pets 2, Fast & Furious Part 8, the 17th iteration of Godzilla, Child's Play (rebooted again), Spiderman (the 3rd iteration since 2002), Men in Black Part 5 another Pokemon film. When is Hollywood going to get it in its head that people's enthusiasm for films diminishes with constantly recycled material.

If marvel had not push up end game and kept it in May it would have helped Pokémon & Aladdin it would have stretched the

The biggest difference is that nowadays we don’t experience movies as a collective anymore.. the year Independence Day came out (like 97ish right?) you HAD to go to the theater to see it, and if you loved it you went back to the theater and saw it multiple times.. everyone was experiencing the movies at the same time and in the same way, nowadays there is so much tv and movies to watch 24/7, on your phone, ur laptop, ur tv, ur iPad, and lastly the movie theater.. so we all experience these movies differently now and at different times.. back in 97 when a huge blockbuster movie like Independence Day came out, EVERYONE in your community went to see it at the same theater, because what else was there to watch?? Nothing besides citcoms and even those only aired at a specific day and time... the internet has literally changed the fucking world and changed the way we do everything.. in some good ways and also in some really bad ways, but for better or worse it has changed the world we live in so much that if you brought someone back from the dead that died in 1998, it would be unrecognizable to them

well for Godzilla 2 most American audiences and critics stink unless ur a fan or like kaiju films to normal fans who don't like it their opinions are null void imo that's y directors producers are afraid to commit to longer monster battles but critics and some audience said we need more humans better story news flash Godzilla films were never known for their story as for rest movies holly wood is lazy agenda pushing nowadays and less original ideas they rehash movies

Reboots of reboots tends to get old really fast. There is no original thought with Hollywood writers and hasn't been for 10+ years now. Plus the social bubble they live in does not resonate with normal people.

I think it’s because a bunch of these movies have bombed with the critics and audiences really hasn’t cared enough to watch them. KOTM disappointed me the most because it looked so awesome and it fell so flat. Dark Phoenix and MIB never looked good so not surprised they have done poorly. Aladdin was a big pleasant surprise. Wasn’t expecting it to be as fun as it was.

  • AP
    AP 2 months ago

Nearly all of the noteworthy movies this year that have lined up around the summer are more exciting than the summer lineup itself. Especially when you count Endgame as a pre-summer film for its release date. The Lion King and Hobbs & Shaw will probably be the films that carry the summer experience out of its dry spell. John Wick was amazing, but too small-scale to match the kind of vibe the summer movie runs are known for.

  • Dinesh Rashid

It hasn’t been a very good summer season at all, greedy studios and clueless executive producers interfering with the director/writers vision. People can tell in the previews if they are going to see a movie in the theaters or wait for it On Demand or Redbox, movie tickets are too expensive. The only movies I’ve seen this summer was Avengers, Rocketman and John Wick.

The answer to your question is because your expectations are too high. Godzilla is a great movie. John Wick is awesome, Aladdin is hitting $800 million. Endgame nuff said, pikachu is so far one of the best videogame movies ever if not the best. So I don’t know what you are talking about
