John Oliver has, unsurprisingly, never played any of the Fallout games, or he'd never have missed a chance to make a Mungo reference here.
My dad died over a week ago, and they still haven't done his autopsy because there's so many in line ahead of him. In fact, we know exactly what happened, and did not authorize any autopsy. But since it was in a public place and not of natural causes, they said it has to be done. In top of that, they forced themselves into searching his car, then forced my mom to pay for the tow/holding fees THE NEXT DAY. Each day they were going to charge her more. All for nothing. They found nothing because there was nothing to find that we didn't already know, just like it'll be for this autopsy. We won't have a funeral until a week after his death, and that's hard enough. I can't imagine any more.
If you let the ad play all the way the company gets charged and doesn't
make any money. Our country is only flooded with ads because that
strategy worked on boomers.

RIP the show Forever. I loved it.
As a resident of Arkansas, I now have to deal with everyone around me being a coroner...is what I would say if they weren't all felons. At least they don't cook meth anymore.
Am I the only one who thinks Dana Delaney is sexy in Body of Proof
here in Canada the average waiting time is two to three months for the waiting time of death certificate
one of my family members is a funeral home director and his license plate was "undertaker"
Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what YOU can do for your country!!!!
This segment always makes me want to go watch The Autopsy of Jane Doe on Netflix, this ad brought to you by NETFLIX
Ayo hol up
My gg died alone and she wasn’t autopsied because we didn’t have the money to have it done. - $5k so they listed her death as natural although she had just had a new pacemaker installed a few weeks before.
America - oh, pardon me, MURKA - is the Land of Grift. Everything is always worse than we can imagine. Yet we permit grifters and psychopaths to run things. We deserve this if it's even nominally a Democracy.
The 2 dead people 1 lightbulb joke was actually pretty brilliant
Excuse me Mr. Oliver! I ALWAYS get the flash drive in right the first try.
... I may accomplish that by staring directly at the male and female ports for several seconds to make sure it's flipped the right way.
THE POINT IS IT CAN BE DONE!
So one of those guys investigated on the Epstein "suicide"? 🤔
ok but forever was a good show
Shaun needs to have a movie made about his career. Seth Rogan would be perfect
I always appreciate John Oliver and his team helping give the spotlight to important topics. I don't agree with him about supplements or some other topics but in this he is RIGHT on. Remember all the corpses found along a remote strip of road on a beach road in Long Island? One major reason police do not want homicides ruled as cause of death is the real estate agents go berserk because everything is tracked and metrics. When people go to buy property in that area they will see 5 homicides recorded in one year in a wealthy area. That's a big no no. So when the woman they were looking for originally before they found the other bodies by accident they drained a swamp ( you can't make this up) and ruled her death ACCIDENTAL (even tho her skeletal hyoid bone was off which could indicate strangulation) even though she had called 911 screaming someone was trying to kill her and seen by neighbors freaked out telling them her life was in before running into a wetland in her panic. Politics are in everything and to deny that is to be very naive. Homicides make a zip code look bad, hurt house prices. Therefor the police are under pressure to find a more palatable reason for end of life. Statistics are being tracked for everything health related by CDC if the manner of death is fuzzy then those statistics rarely show the true story when they are examined. The melamine scandal in dog food where many thousands of dogs died from eating (pet food unregulated in USA) the vets under-reported what killed the dog so the statistics after the fact may have been as low as 10% of what the actual death rate was. PS death and municipal spending are things people don't want to talk about. Add urine and poop to that list. No one wants to talk about sewering either. PPS Tracey Morgan is hilarious and can still laugh about not dying by WALMART. Good for him.
Is there a way I can be buried asap before these incompetent dirt bags handle my dead remains?
14:44 So nasty...
"When I die just throw me in the trash" - Frank Reynolds.
Did anyone else like forever
Your vidoes reinforce how I despise humanity.
9:38 When did Archie Bunker become a medical examiner?
john oliver:the OG whistleblower
Put some respect on her spleen! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Remember that Jeffrey Epstein did not kill himself
"You cant hire that which does not exist" yeah, id say that would stand to reason.
The county I grew up in is in rural Indiana and our coroner was a funeral director. Shade.
Investigate Epstein
It's been a few months since this episode aired and that "Forever" joke still hits hard.... in all the right, hilarious ways.
Forensic Files is the best
would I be a monster if I admitted i didn't give a fuck about Glenn Close's spleen...
although I am worried about the impact on the dog that could theoretically eat her spleen.
I would willingly be taxed $3.75 per year to protect any dog from eating anybodies fucking spleen.
dogs are noble creatures and have a shit load of personality.
my shit is kinda fucked up right now so I'm avoiding owning a dog, but the second I know I can commit to caring for a dog for 12 to 15 years im definitely getting one.
😂😂😂😂😂
Of course coroners are elected. In the US every job is apparently elected. Taking the idea of democracy too far.
This is just so sad...
TAKE THAT USC!, UCLA FOREVER, JOHN OLVIER FOR COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER
The us system makes me shed a tear for how the treat there people and each other..... :(
Sean Parsells is the real life equivalent of that guy in Fallout: New Vegas who when asked if he was a theoretical physicist he says he has a theoretical degree in physics.
china is destroying usa health system with opioids
Shout out to all my investigators, law enforcement, and vets!
9.30: A 2020 interview?
Great show. Epstein didn't kill himself.
John Oliver just makes me laugh! Love him!
How the hell can you become a coroner, whose job it is to examine dead bodies to determine cause of death with NO kind of training in physiology? Is there on the job training? This isn't plumbing you know, pretty sure learning on the job isn't a thing.
Hugh Mongo what?
14:27 you'll thank me later. John Oliver always delivers content for everyone.
humongous grant?
I had no idea U.S. is so broken
Dont hate on forever. the show was actually decent
If i ever hear another white guy talk about how fucked up the rest of the world is i'm going to show him this channel
Thats one of the nerdiest white dudes i've seen in my life at 3:57. He would only be made fun of as a nerd, not only in USA but all over the world but never as THE White nerd.
thats White privilege
When John Oliver meet John Quiñones :O
And Americans hate immigrants for surpassing them in education because they’re stealing the jobs they’re not qualified for due to a lack of desire in education?
Ooooh San Joaquin County! Thats where I live :)
6:13 what people?
when my dad died, I spent the three days it took to get a cause of death in a sort of limbo. I was grieving, but there was this hole I can't quite describe that didn't allow me to begin to move through it until I knew how he died.
wow...., that shit has become very fast, very creepy....😨
This Professor Lynn dude is clearly somebody you should avoid whether you're alive or dead!😱
Indeed I'm a little scared to get nightmares tonight...😬
Shawn Parcells looks like a poster child for lobotomised dummies. Am not surprised about the goings-on of this topic. There's so much that's wrong with various systems within the US. Don't know why people think it's such a grand and rich country. It's deeply, deeply flawed, full of corruption and uncaring, stupid people. Sad, sad, sad and pathetic!
