She is fucked up by no one else but herself. She has a loving husband (who desires her, too), healthy kids, a comfortable home, some food to prepare. She should've just stayed single and pleasure her self all her life. I would have understood it if her husband was irresponsible, abusive, alcoholic, etc. But NO! It's her who is the problem. I feel pity for her husband and kids.
With the title "The Escape", surely she just escaped to Paris and have a stranger fuck her! She didn't need to escape from her husband, who always wanted to talk about things with her.

  • Refuse Rfid chip! Choose Messiah Jesus

I just watched an interview with Dr. Gabor Mate, and he said that social and community and family support is so important for parents of children especially in western civilization that has promoted "isolating capitalism" as its mantra. In other words, if the parents are stressed then the children will be stressed.

has a couple of kids and that's it she cant cope? lol should try having a disability raising 2 boys under the age of 7, one austistic and diagnosed with cancer at 14 months old and nearly died three times. You decided to have kids they didn't ask to be born you don't just give up a bugger off because you miss the perks of being single

They way I see it, i am a woman and don't have kids, not married yet. But it is important to have options and not lock yourself down as a full time stay at home mum. And hiring help is important it helps to give you a break

When you become a mum you lose your identity. You are no longer recognised for your personality or characteter but how well you cook, clean and serve the ones you love. Reflect amd diacover who you are outside of being a mum. I went through this however i could not escape. Go for walks. Listen to amazing music. Create secret fantacies. Read amazing books. Just tell yourself you are not just a mum but a woman who can live and laugh and enjoy life withput sacruficing all of herself to others. Its okay to be selfish, thats what we need to tell ourselves.

Never wanted kids.. thought I was too self centered and selfish.. being a parent is very hard work and at times very overwhelming but I would do it again and again. The love I feel for my girls is something I could never explain. I suspect I would never have known I could be capable of loving so selflessly. My love for them is so true pure and unconditional. Had I not taken the chance I would never have felt how amazing and all encompassing it is .. I am grateful everyday for my girls. My life has so much more meaning and I Cherish it dearly because they are in it.

The problem was not the children, it was that she had to stay at home, take care of them and please her husband whenever he wanted and repeat the routine day after day with nothing else to do. If that were the role of men, would they accept it? And for the record, I am a man.
    Excellent movie.

@Katherine Cruz actually its exclusive in abundance for the west.... Thats why there is a friction between east and west.... Please dont lecture me on this.. Its easy being on the other side where you dont know the sounds of waking up to bombs and grenades and bullets flying by your pillow... Go and see the plight of men women children in Afghanistan Iran Iraq Syria Palestine all based on lies and propagandas of the westrrn media backed and commanded by your politicans and army.... and then talk about your butthurt feelings.

    • Katherine Cruz
      Katherine Cruz 27 days ago

@Adam Qureshi How do you know whether or what they enjoy?
Furthermore, the poor choices; cheating, lying, disrespecting, that the freedom of the West allows isn't exclusive ours, those same things happen where women haven't the same freedoms - but they can't leave.
It doesn't mean they're happy. The same oppression that keeps them from leaving, keeps them from speaking their truth.

Emma Layla, If you really are who you say you are, good for you. There is nothing wrong with your face, but you are covering it because of a religion. What kind of religion tells a woman that she has to hide her beauty? A religion of men! Don’t you get it? However, you are free to do what you want to do. (What YOU want to do).

    • Emma Layla

@John Radz Well, I am a woman with a veil covering my entire face and I am from Europe and educated. I live with my parents and my son. My parents are not religious so it is my own decesion to wear what I wear, nobody made me, in fact I had to fight to be what I am today. I am completely happy and satisfied with my life. I lead an honest and pure life. So, there you go, you have an honest opinion.

I believe women are not sent to the earth by God to be just a mom. If woman is a house wife then it's the job of the husband to make sure that her wife gets her free time atleast once in a year. This is a very beautiful movie and it's theme is very good.

I absolutely love seeing a film showcasing an aspect so many women goes through but often shadowed. I’ve watched my mum becoming someone’s wife and someone’s mother all the while her identity as an own person and a woman with dream and goals and aspiration of her own slowly erased. She was such an amazingly cool woman when she was younger, something I as a fellow woman would admit. Then she got married and had me and my brother and had to give up her career and dreams. It takes so little to be considered a great dad and so little to be considered a shitty mum and over the years, I saw the toll it took on her and if I ever had the chance to go back in time and meet my mum, I’d probably say, don’t get married don’t have kids and live your life and fulfil your dreams. Being old and single isn’t always a bad thing.

It doesn't seem like she has any "adult" time for herself in this movie...it's just wife and mother, mother and wife. Every woman should take some time to enjoy being a person. Go have a glass of wine with friends once in awhile, take a class, enjoy a hobby, go sit in the park or a cafe and read a book...go to the library and read a book, go watch a movie, take a vacation where it's just you and your partner. If you don't take time to be 'you' then it's your kids who are gonna pay. And remember if you don't take that time and you leave for good you have regulated your children to a life of "why wasn't I good enough for her to love me".

Beautiful message of our western society : don't have kids, don't get married, die alone after an empty life where you contributed for nothing but you own pleasure. Meanwhile, in other countries people don't overthink, work, enjoy simple things and know their place. Western civilization is dying and we deserve it.
