I thought they were married, not just a girlfriend. I am thinking both were killed in the end because there are many mentions of fear of hitting the hostage, and in the end the women in charge told the sniper to take the shot ignoring the risk.

What about the password he gives the lady whose daughter killed herself? That made zero sense to me.

Andrew Scott is such an amazing actor, he knocked it out of the park. I've liked him in everything I've ever seen him in but this was incredible, you can viscerally feel the pain he's channeling.

6:20 - It's Charlie Brooker, not Michael. I'm amazed he hasn't gained more of a following in the US considering Black Mirror is now fully established there and how good/ funny his non-fiction writing and appearances on TV tend to be. I'm guessing a lot of producers wouldn't be keen on him though as his personality doesn't really suit that sort of American talk show "Isn't everything brilliant?!?! Look! Famous people! Wow!" type stuff.

*Edit: You say it right every other time so I'm guessing you just mis-spoke. Never mind!

Season 1-4: opens eyes to hidden processes and trends in society, which are little spoken about or are not spoken.
Season 5: promotes hidden processes and trends in society, which are little spoken about or are not spoken.
Episode 1: propaganda of homosexuality, propaganda of transvestists or hell knows what this shit is all about, you understand, propaganda of emancipation, propaganda of feminism, discrimination of the white population. Simply. (The series was bought, it is difficult to understand by whom)
Episode 2: the British filmed, so here is light: just by the standard propaganda of homosexuality, feminism, emancipation. (but those for whom it is every day will not notice the difference)
Episode 3: Miley Cyrus PR company, for the whole series (The series was most likely bought by Miley Cyrus). Purpose and plot: debunking the myth of Miley Cyrus, changing the attitude in the mass to Miley Cyrus, most likely with a change of image (in the future), or "seeding" checking the public's reaction to the series.
Actually that's all. What the following episodes will be difficult to imagine. It is obvious that the Black Mirror series was somehow overbought by the original creators and was redone to solve specific problems and fulfill certain goals. In the first place - money, in the second - propaganda, hell knows what or vice versa, there is already someone you like.

An Easter Egg you missed was while Andrew’s character was on hold they played Daydreaming by Radiohead. Daydreaming refers to the car accident where he was lost in another world instead of focusing on driving,

The fact the British PD missed a guy sitting stationary in the drivers seat of a broken down car TWICE while the 'hotstepper' decides to walk down the car herself once she thinks it's a fake gun. If Chris was really bad, a lot of cops would have been shot out of sheer dumb fuckery including beady eyed fake Tracey Ullman

Suicide is just as evil as a Murder. You are the victim you are the person victimizing all the people that love you and care about you because you’re hurting and you’re selfish and you want the pain to be relieved. Do you want your pa murder. You are the victim you are the person victimizing all the people that love you and care about you because you’re hurting and you’re selfish and you want the pain to be relieved. You want your pain to be relieved at the expense of everybody who loves you most. Nobody ever kill themselves! You definitely have so many people that would miss you and love you. And even if you don’t care about yourself enough to live, care about the people around you enough...

While Andrew Scott's acting was indeed phenomenal, I didn't like the episode at all, especially the ending. It didn't have the same finesse like the older seasons and there was literally no mindblowing plot twist or turn of events whatsoever. It was obvious in the first 10 minutes of the episode that Chris had lost someone he loved and was plotting some sort of revenge. Yes, it reflects a common issue, but it is a well known one. There is an infinite amount of "don't drive and text" videos and messages, we all know how glued we are to our phones, there are bazillion of satirical art pieces about it, it is sadly old tea. This episode had nothing innovative about it, nothing shocking, nothing eye opening. I was honestly disappointed and if it weren't for Scott playing in it, I probably wouldn't have finished it because the entire story and also the ending were completely obvious and predictable. 3/10 imo.

In my eyes the social media company is a not really to blame. That the other driver was drunk is a good contrast for this, nobody would blame the company that made the drinks the other driver drank but you can blame the people that made Chris look on his phone ? I think this is even an other hint in this story.

Anyone think that maybe bill sent out a message to stop looking at your phones at the end. For example the guy that was looking at his phone at the basketball court decided that he should be playing basketball instead of looking at his phone.

What i love about this episode is that it's not in near future. It's in present time and the scariest thing is that this could totally happen irl. People are addicted to phones and apps at Black Mirror level already

Also, though I know it's not the main point of this episode, I think when a child under 18 passes their legal gardens/parents should *maybe* be able to have the password to any social media account but *not* for anyone over 18. As a legal adult it would be a breach of privacy unless pre-agreed and under 18 I think is debatable because there are so many forms of parent/child relationships I think it's harder to have a blanket law.

The editing of the first shot of Billy being in his position and then the last shot him getting back into that position but the former being him unmoving and composed and the latter of him moving and more real gives me chills

Did you catch that everything that has a connection with Smithereen has something yellow? The building inside and the reception, the people walking by (all of them has some yellow on them), Billy has a yellow bracelet, and just in general all the scenes with Billy are colored so much warmer than the one's with Chris. I find fascinating how professional filmmakers use colors.
