Slaty bedrock, the natural gold trap

  • Looking at satellite images of the Winburndale Rivulet I could see areas along the stream that may have seen gold mining activity. The only way to know for sure is to go and take a closer look at these areas and wash a few pans along the way.

The tree burl in the video. For those of you that only see $$$ when you see this then you are missing many things in life. I care not for the money that can be made from destroying the environment, such as cutting down a live tree for profit. My wealth is not the amount of money I have or the accumulated possessions but more the experiences I have and the places I see. Greed is ugly no matter how you dress it.

I totally agree with the way you see the world. I wish everyone here in the States felt the same, but greed, racism and wealth have totally divided this country. I worked my entire life treating cancer patients, so I love to travel and see God's beauty. We are going back to Reno, NV soon, at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. My wife and I plan to spend whatever time we have left seeing the beauty of nature and looking for gold and old mining towns. Best of luck to you, mate.

Exactly a government would jail a person for panning on a tiny scale for recreation yet if that same person suddenly found a rich vein of gold ....that same government would ban people panning and strip mine acres and acres to get the gold without a single thought for the environment

I'd rather enjoy the outdoors while looking for hidden gems , why can't you enjoy the experience ?. No harm in looking for something of high value ? People who complain are missing the point of mind your own business, we are not all the same ! The world is for exploring

I need to live in the USA. You guys need only a few pans for tons of gold. Here in Germany you need the whole day or even a week for that much gold. Very nice loot!

Loved the video mate, thanks for taking me along. Personally, I'm a hardcore coin/relic detectorist and tend to leave chasing gold to those with gold fever coursing through their veins and know what they're doing. However, I really enjoyed every minute of this video. You've gained another follower buddy and will definitely give you a plug in my FB group. Looking forward to watching more.
