Great run. Had you not had to contend with people starting in front of you and getting in the way causing you to fall you'd have been in the top 8-10 easily. I was hoping you'd push a little harder on the last roadway before the final single track through the woods to get to the narrows first but the dude slipped by you just before it and there was little chance of passing him after that, what with the dust in the air obscuring the right line. Excellent run and enjoyable vid.
@dcamp29 interesting, the guy who passed you has his own vid of the event, and you are right, he crashed on the glacier close out of the gate at a bad line, slipping on the ice but continuing a good long way on a rocky patch that, from his swearing, I am guessing hurt quite a bit.
@dcamp29 That particular spot is a bitch. I've watched Kilian Bron's recording from this year's Mega over virtually the same track and he lost to Borges at that exact spot (though I think Borges was playing with him the whole race). Tiredness has long since settled in, so much of the race is behind you so the adrenaline has started to fade, the roadway bit isn't very long but has a rise and the legs are knackered. That's why I like enduro, the hill challenges break up the downhill and require more than just fearlessness. You did incredibly well. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! The guy who passed me there was Youn Denauid- top 10 EWS guy... I think he'd crashed earlier because his arm was all bloody. Either way- I was givin her up the hill, just out of gas haha
Wow, you're faaaast
1:51 *DEJA VU...*
Goodman! Good work!
MEGA NICE AMAZING RACE.UNBELIEVABLE .
a bunch of strave-asseholes...LOL
Love that "hey baby" at 24:13 hahaha
6:43 he said “whoa fuck me hard”. Like if you heard lmao. To funny
I hate when someone slower gets in front of me and I can't pass them.
Please invest in a gimbal to stabilize the shot. It's too bouncy.
bravo pour le courage!
Loved it. Hilariously funny at the beginning.
Very well deserved placement my man! Sucks you didn't start a bit farther ahead than you did thought... All that passing wasn't good for your placing but meh, you crushed it anyway!Also.. HEY BABE!
u could start this with 2 redbulls ;)
I thought I was bad ass commuting two miles to get my groceries
I had a blast listening to you have a blast
I was cheering for you! I loved how excited you were. The sections in the snow were amazing.
A clear image of a racer that pushes his limits..Possibly a bit too hard, too early. But he does keep on pushing despite the pain.
Icey porn 😂
dude, buy a new camera with a stabilizer.
Did everybody else get a water droplet in there left eye also? Lol
This is awesome. I've just learned of these races, looks ridiculously fun. What was starting elevation?
Yes- most fun races ever. Starting elevation on this one is over 10,000ft/3,300m. Ending is somewhere around 2,000ft/700m.
the music in the beginning is so funny lol
If I walked this trail I would trip multiple times. It amazes me that people can effortlessly bike this.
5:41 - off course.
omg, without that fall at the start....top 10 ?
I have watched far too many of these already and I can tell you that a lot of these guys need to learn a bit about slipstream distances. Watch some road race examples. At 21:20 ish you see this guy using it and then get overtaken by a guy who was doing it better. You want to be half a bikes length from the guy in front of you and if they are doing it to the guy in front of them and the guy in front of them is doing it too you won't even need to peddle on the flats - so you'll save yourself for the hills and blast past everyone.Great job. I probably couldn't do what you guys do, even with the theory behind me. Keep it up!
The only problem with these courses is that except at the top, there's almost NO place to pass!!
You are really good fo downhill but to the hill (up) you are not so good :))
Looks tiring and dangerous..but really fun. At the start its absolute chaos..awesome
Lu ngerekam tapi lu bego
I'm exhausted just watching this...
Coming in hot 1:51Do they select riders or can anyone sign up and qualify?
dcamp29 thanks a lot for the fast reply, that’s awesome, something to look forward too. I’m happy for you that you were able to experience this, it looks like you had a lot of fun.
Anyone can sign up. There are 10 qualifying races of about 140 people each the day before to sort out fast/slow riders into groups. The final races (this one) have about 350 line up to start (I think there are 4 final heats from fast to slow).
Fascinating how much power you were able to get out of your body. You can clearly hear how you were driving on your limit most of the time.
Always nice to see two cammers meet up tvclip.biz/video/xiqLviSC42w/video.html & tvclip.biz/video/kEeN8xY_1BI/video.html
After watching the video from the winner, I came here to see the race actually had some other bikes. That guy just crushed it.
Troppo bello questa gara ed il percorso stupendo BRAVO,voglio anch'io
These dudes who claw in front of people on the glacier just to white knuckle their brakes until they fall over need to go away
You did great man!!!!
Sliding faster than some of them riders :D

Alp d' Huez in the French Alps
what is with all these foulmouthed jackwagons that participate in these things? is there some reason they have to be complete foulmouths? foulmouthed foulmouths. cripes.
What are you talking about?
ooh.. fuck me!!)
All I want to know is, if I have an XC bike what tires can I run to be able to ride on ice without sliding all over the place? this seem to be the longest kept secret in the bike world.
@kay poly No- I use those tires for normal XC riding around my home (very rocky).
@dcamp29 And I suppose you rode the XC with the dhf/icon combo in the snow too? because, that will be too much on dry land.
@kay poly For this race I ran DHF 2.3 DD front and rear with cushcore front and rear. On my XC bike I run a DHF 2.3 EXO in the front and Icon 2.35 EXO on the rear. Again- nothing really works on ice.
@dcamp29 DHF front and rear? what combo. Don't be vague, give the entire details. and remember I said, XC bike/short travel bike.
Real ice? Nothing works. Just don't do anything when you ride on ice- no braking, no pedaling no turning. Just sit there and coast across ice in a straight line. I ran Maxxis Minion DHF's for this race. They were fine on the snow.
Very impressive!!! How much km is the race?
Really impressive fitness, pounding past some other very skilled and fit riders, a great watch! dream ride!
