The Dark Net isn't what you think. It's actually key to our privacy | Alex Winter | TEDxMidAtlantic

  • Published on Oct 30, 2015
  • There is a hidden Internet, completely separate from the surface Web. Documentary filmmaker Alex Winter spent several years immersed in this fascinating world and talks about how the battle for your right to privacy is being waged in this dark corner of the Internet. You may have heard the "Dark Net" is a scary underworld filled with crime, but Alex's findings will surprise you.
Alex Winter entered show business as a child actor on Broadway and came to prominence in the wildly popular BILL AND TED franchise. Winter’s latest, award-winning documentary DEEP WEB, recently had a critically acclaimed world premiere at SXSW and a broadcast premiere in the U.S. on the Epix network, to be followed by a worldwide release on all platforms in September 2015.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Ever since I have been finding unconventional ways around everything on the internet or tech. This hacker executed various tasks for me based on Web (HTML, PHP, SQL, APACHE), C/C++, Assembler, Delphi, 0day Exploits, highly personalized Trojans and boots and DDoS. You can hire him for any kind of website hacks, phone hack or phone spying, email hacks and credit card/bank hacks. All you need is to be discrete and text his email binaryhack3r@protonmail com

Encryption and all forms of privacy are hack-able when given the tools and time. if there was truly no privacy, there would be no privacy for hackers and government either... someone steals your credit card info? no problem, they wouldn't be able to get anything for themselves without giving away their identity in a truly privacy free world

With the push to censor topics of interest on the internet we will all need to use the dark net if we want free and open discussion. Vaccines are an example of a topic that we are now seeing a big push to censor any discussion of concerns of safety. Amazon have remove books , they are pushing for google and you tube to censor dissenting views. Main stream TV will only give airtime to one side and do not report known cases of fraud, even in government agencies. This astounds me, as even if you believe in vaccines, it would be in everyone's best interest to be aware of safety concerns considering the complete lack of placebo trails for these products which the pharmaceutical corporations were granted a free pass from liability in the vaccine act 1986, meaning they cannot be sued for harm or even death caused by their vaccine products.

IMPORTANT!! --------- This guy is incorrect. Using Tor or the DarkWeb will NOT protect your computer from malware as implied @11:44 PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS

The DarkWeb, Tor, VPNs etc will help you surf the internet while hiding from the GOVERNMENT. Not hackers. He would have the exact same issues using Tor.

Saying he was "hacked" by kids (most likely his own mistake, not REAL hacking).., and using this as an excuse to hide from the government is a strawman argument.

If you want to protect yourself from hackers, then use Linux, iOS or anti-virus software when using Windows X.

Do not do banking etc on a PC. Mobile devices are very secure from hackers.

Don't accept calls from "Microsoft" or other companies who want you to make any changes to your PC.

Don't not reply to unknown emails, and scan all attachments including PDFs and images.
