The media make a big deal about Steph winning Finals MVP as if one series takes away from his greatness and overall impact in the league. They clearly don’t see that he could care less about the individual accolades. It’s a team game and as long as he play as such they have been successful so why should he change now.

A partial list of players whose career scoring average in the Finals is lower than Steph Curry's as of 29 May 2019 (4 Finals played): Kobe Bryant (but barely; could change this year), Kareem, Dirk, D-Wade, Larry Bird, Moses Malone ("Fo, Fo, Fo"), Tim Duncan.

What a question. I doubt very many NBA players sit around thinking about winning the Finals MVP. You just play your best, try to make your team win, and then some voters do their subjective thing, and that's that.

After he wins FMVP the narrative will be 4 championships, fmvp and 2x MVP but no Defense player of the year Steph are you disappointed?. Are you sad that you don't have dpoy? They will always find something to nit pick about his legacy but he will let the rings speak for themselves haters

On that note, if I were Steph Curry, I would study Gary Payton's 1996 season. Also work with Draymond and Klay while also polishing his midrange and paint game. If he does that, Warriors would be super lethal.

Trust me on this. Steph would probably like to win MVP but he wouldn't mind at all if Klay or Draymond won or if KD or
Iguodola won again. Curry is a team player.

even though Iggy played incredible in 2015, its easy to forget how great Steph was in the first Finals run, just go back and watch some of the shots he made. I think its safe to say he is finally going to check this one off the legacy box this year, 4 time champion a Finals MVP. Also when KD leaves he will be in prime position to flourish again like 2015-2016 and he could be a 3 time MVP after next season

The Raptors dont match up well with the warriors man. Kyle Lowry is going to have problems with Steph and when KD comes back Kawhi cant guard both him and KD. Conversely, Klay, KD, Iggy and Draymond can guard Kawhi. Actually KDs long ass arms might give Kawhi problems, who knows.

    Hear that haters...
    Winning is what really matters.
FMVP? That's an opinion award. Doesn't mean that much.
Popularity contest, isn't that important to Curry.
Rings and Trophies are the main goal.

    • tony tonyt
      tony tonyt 3 months ago

But rings is a team trophy tho. Individual performance is way different. Just cause the teams wins doesn't make the 12th man on the bench better than the opposing team best player . The team goal is to win trophies. No one player can have that mindset and still win . Growing up we wanted to be the best or the greatest. It what makes sports great .

    • Warren Mazengwe
      Warren Mazengwe 3 months ago

I've been saying that for the longest. It's the media's fault that everybody is making such a big deal about the award. First it started with "Lebron deserves the Finals MVP, even if he loses". Then it escalated when Kevin Durant won one cuz now Steph missed out on two. Mix that with calling Steph a playoff choker an all that shit. Steph played magnificent in the other 3 series but cuz one guy, who is the main opposite of Lebron, gets he award, everybody is in a thizzle.
