Dear friends and followers, welcome back to my channel and to a battle of the century. The A380 versus the Boeing 747. Who to better do this battle with my dear friend and colleague pilot Alexander, who has been flying the A380 for the past year.
Here a few facts about both planes from Wikipedia …
    The Airbus A380
The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by European manufacturer Airbus.[6][7] It is the world's largest passenger airliner, and the airports at which it operates have upgraded facilities to accommodate it. It was initially named Airbus A3XX and designed to challenge Boeing's monopoly in the large-aircraft market. The A380 made its first flight on 27 April 2005 and entered commercial service on 25 October 2007 with Singapore Airlines. An improved version, the A380plus, is under development.
The A380's upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage; it is narrower than the lower deck but remains comparable to the width of other wide-body aircraft. This gives the A380-800's cabin 550 square metres (5,920 sq ft) of usable floor space,[8] 40% more than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-8,[9] and provides seating for 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in an all-economy class configuration. The A380-800 has a design range of 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 km), serving the fourth- and seventh-longest non-stop scheduled flights in the world, and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h, 560 mph or 490 kt at cruising altitude).
As of July 2018, Airbus had received 331 firm orders and delivered 229 aircraft; Emirates is the biggest A380 customer with 162 ordered of which 104 have been delivered
    Boeing 747
The Boeing 747 is an American wide-body commercial jet airliner and cargo aircraft, often referred to by its original nickname, "Jumbo Jet". Its distinctive hump upper deck along the forward part of the aircraft has made it one of the most recognizable aircraft, and it was the first wide-body airplane produced. Manufactured by Boeing's Commercial Airplane unit in the United States, the 747 was originally envisioned to have 150 percent greater capacity than the Boeing 707, a common large commercial aircraft of the 1960s. First flown commercially in 1970, the 747 held the passenger capacity record for 37 years.
The four-engine 747 uses a double-deck configuration for part of its length and is available in passenger, freighter and other versions. Boeing designed the 747's hump-like upper deck to serve as a first-class lounge or extra seating, and to allow the aircraft to be easily converted to a cargo carrier by removing seats and installing a front cargo door. Boeing expected supersonic airliners-the development of which was announced in the early 1960s-to render the 747 and other subsonic airliners obsolete, while the demand for subsonic cargo aircraft would remain robust well into the future. Though the 747 was expected to become obsolete after 400 were sold, it exceeded critics' expectations with production surpassing 1,000 in 1993. By July 2018, 1,546 aircraft had been built, with 22 of the 747-8 variants remaining on order.

you’re comparing apples and oranges !!! because both were designed for different rolls... europe works on a hub spoke ideea, and the west likes a point to point, so see you’re both wrong !!! that’s why the a380 has been cancelled and the 747-8 is only being ordered in an F variant, because long haul passenger comparison should be between a350-1000 and 777-9

I started working as an aircraft technician the same year British Airways started using the 747-400 to fly to Venezuela. I guess no one can forget their first time standing by its nose gear and wondering how that beast could fly.

Aircrew that rely on automation fall into complacency and cannot handle a real life emergency when presented with such. Often results in fatal consequences.
