  • Catalan pro-independence protesters blocked a border point on a highway that connects the Spanish region of Catalonia with France, stopping traffic in both directions a day after a parliamentary election in Spain.
Catalan regional police diverted the traffic in the area but hundreds of cars remain stuck on the road. French riot police officers were deployed in the area.

There isnt majority in Catalonia to leave Spain. The real problem is the
sitting parliament is not ligimite, due to the election rules where 1
vote does not count 1 in the typical high popuation pro spanish areas.
And due to voting places are few and open few hours in typical high
population pro spanish areas - and that leavers count the votes. The
pariliamanet is not what the people voted for. When the election problem
is solved, the main problem is gone.

As always, Catalan independentists lost in votes, but they continue to demand freedom. (When they are one of the territories with the most freedoms in the world, they control education, health, they have their own police, etc.).

His way of claiming freedom is to take away the freedom of the vast majority of Catalans who do not want independence.

I'm pretty sure that Spain is better than any Islamic nation based in their laws. I come from a Muslim country, living in Europe and I've been in the whole Spain and democracy looks quite good in Spain. Protesting happens in every country and since I'm living in a Mediterranean country, I know that protesters are usually going too far themselves. Also if the laws are so bad that they are worse than Muslims nations, then they could go and live in a Muslim nation. Nobody stops them. Since I've lived in one, I know id never go back though, and I'm pretty sure that they know it too.

    • WorldInFlamesAgain
      WorldInFlamesAgain 27 days ago +1

@MEGANOD ! But you insinuated that people could go to jail for a public disturbance, not for simply protesting - which in Spain is simply not true. Spain has some pretty scary anti-democratic laws which wouldn't look out of place in a backwards radical Islamic country.

    • MEGANOD !
      MEGANOD ! 27 days ago +1

      @WorldInFlamesAgain
The point of the video and of the comment section is not about going to jail because of a protest.
It's about going to jail for public disturbance, which is committed in this situation.
As for protesting, if you cause problems, then obviously you will go in jail for that. Peaceful protesters don't end up in jail and peaceful protesters don't put out parts of the wall in the highway, like the ones in the video.
