I can't stand the notion of tanking, but I would just be laughing every time the Avalanche won at this point if I was a fan of theirs.

Can someone explain to me why did they throw a squid on the ice?

    • YAOmighty - Gaming and More
YAOmighty - Gaming and More 10 months ago

Ripsyyy Back when the NHL only had the Original Six, teams only needed eight wins to win the Stanley Cup. It made sense to throw an octopus on the ice, since octopi has eight tentacles.

      DubNation 10 months ago

Ripsyyy it's a Red Wings tradition to throw an octopus onto the ice. But it doesn't really happen anymore due to new rules in the NHL

Roman Art he was a great player he would have made a huge impact on any team but they went 25 years without being in the draft lottery so it's taking its toll as well

Colorado and red wings rivalry is one of the greatest

    • acer4139
      acer4139 10 months ago

Poe Javelski It still exists in a symbolic fashion for fans on both sides. Sucks that the chickenshit dead wings ran to the eastern conference (just kidding). Most wings fans I've come across are pretty chill, and it's just fun chirping back and forth. For whatever reason, even though the old rivalry is dead, playing the red wings seems to bring out the fire in the avs, even in the midst of their worst season ever.
