How would the little girl clone have the same clothes as the original girl when they met
Jeremy should do a podcast on Jordan Peele’s Us
If you watch it again you can see that the thing that makes the protagonist pair special is that the underground version gains control of the above ground version, draws her into the fun house against her will and captures her in the tunnels. It shows that the above ground version is having a hard time chosing a prize, and the underground version chooses the shirt. It's stated that the above ground version didn't know why she wandered away from her father. It's because she was not in control at that point, the under was. I think it's more accurate to call the people in the story overs and unders rather than referring to the unders as "the tethered" because literally everyone is tethered to their doppelganger. The overs are tethered to the unders and vice versa
Also: How did all the clones have normal clothes resembling their counterparts.I mean the original People don‘t always wear the same clothes, yet the clones wear coincidently the same clothes their original versions wear at the same day.And why don‘t the government just give them uniforms instead of unique clothes each.Isn‘t that a bit too much effort and nearly impossible to do for every single american?
If Adelaide would have said “ Some people lost there control but then there was US “ It would of fixed the whole movie because there is nothing in this movie that explains how fake Adelaide was dancing and making real Adelaide dance in the underground .
The writing was TRASH!
in the beginning I saw the VHS tape of A Nightmare on Elm Street next to the television
I hate it when users ask questions that don't matter. Make up your own meaning!
Actually this movie was inspired from the Twilight Zone episode "Mirror Image."
Trash ass movie
How about the plot hole of the true girl telling the duplicate the story if the unterther literally moments before the "Twist" is revealed. If u ask me that's when peel said let's just tell the audience instead of showing them.
how did the copy know how to talk
I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was a fun metaphorical experience despite all the plot holes. But, as always with Hollywood, the trailer spoiled so many plot points
My guess is that the reason the tethered Lupita was able to overpower real Lupita in the tunnels, was because tethered Lupita did have parents support, guidance and encouragement. Like they bruteforced the tethered Lupita to be better. And like real Lupita didnt have any good support or guidance down there, she became tethered herself. Im guessing Jordan Peele was trying to say, living in a f*cked up place really stumps your growth.
I love this movie and sidenote Jeremy Jahns is so handsome and sexy ugh
I found it weird when Adelaide talks to Red and reveals the whole plan and basically acts like shes the tethered waiting to teach the real ppl a lesson of appreciation rather than hinting on revenge to her tethered for taking her life away from her... I almost thought maybe their minds switched too but that wasn't possible because Red clearly was shown trying to learn to be a normal person. I guess when she said you could have taken me with you she meant you didn't have to swap we could have both lived up there. idk. It's really well written to where you can interpret things in so many ways. Kinda like American Psycho back in the day.
I still can't believe that the ending twist was secretly shown IN THE MOVIE POSTER
Is it sad that I laughed so hard when they played fuck the police instead of calling the police?
Personally, I don't care if sci-fi is illogical. After all, it's not science, it's science *fiction*
The whole time I was just, "Holy shit"
Of the two groups you mention, Jeremy, I am definitely in Group 2.
Us:Police: We will be there in 15 minutes
so do they mimic exactly because what happens if people move across the nation? because if these people move from where they were born if that's how these clones are made and place when created? yet if a person gives birth to a child does that duplicate suddenly get pregnant and give birth not needing the actual clone duplicate to be present with the other duplicate like how do they move across the nation like logistically how do these people move across the nation or they saying that these tunnels under the nation are like the biggest civil engineering to date?
3:38 there's no way you could've known that😂
*DOG shit! Get Out was way more entertaining and was a lot less confusing.*
This movie would be 10x better if they closed all the loose ends. This movie has more plotholes than America has unused tunnels
The biggest plot hole for me was where they were getting their clothes from and all of them identical to the people above. Like Red swaps the t-shirt with Adelaide but she was already wearing the same yellow shirt and white shorts. Who is making the clothes down there when they don't even cook their own food? How do they make sure each clone gets them at the proper time the above one does?
did everybody catched the knock knock joke the dad made? "knock knock (who's there ?) You" then later on the one who's at the door is the clone dad
The twist in this movie makes absolutely no sense if you think about it. It's having a twist for the sake of having a twist. Makes 0 sense when you take into account everything else in the movie. Makes the whole movie actually suck.
I didn’t feel like this movie was as “deep” as a lot of people made it out to be. Seemed pretty strait forward and I never felt like I had to watch it twice to find any hidden meaning or message. It Was simply a good movie
My family saw this movie because my oldest daughter came in town to visit us. So we watched it and I want to say that this movie is predictable.
I give it a 7.5 It was solid. Not perfect.
I think it's metaphorical, that's why it makes no sense.
This can't be real
My fucked theory - using the bedding and other fabric along with making dye with rabbit blood & gloves with rabbit skin.
I thought it was okay not better than Get Out but it was fine, the camera work and shots in the movie were amazingly well done, the acting was fine but Lupita Nyong'o stole the show for me with her performance she's my MVP without a doubt and the story is okay but there were some stupid stuff like the reference to Home Alone or them going back and forth over who's going to drive, why the hell are you guys going back and forth about who is going to drive while all of this mayhem going on in front of them and the big reveal at the end was foreshadowed at the start of the movie.
"Any movie can make you take a LEAK." Yes, that is what I heard and I'm sticking with it.
When I watched it, I saw the two people emulating what the others above were doing as a type of rape. I mean, she said that she didn't love the Us version of the dad. So, she, in my mind, was raped because she didn't want a child but she had one anyway because the dad and woman's soul was tethered. Does that make sense? I dunno.
It's terrible lets be honest
The whole movie is basically a little girl executing Order 66.
This movie was horrible. The ending was predictable.
The part of this movie that bade no sense to me was at the end when her son is looking at her like he knows she's not the original person, I mean that's still his mom. Like the specific individual still gave birth to him, so I didn't get why he was looking at her like "you're not my real mom". Other than that i enjoyed it but that really annoyed me.
What's an apoiler?
This movie is the most "overcompensation" reviewed film ever. Really? The writing didn't tell why, what, and how these "underground people" exist. The treat was so WEAK, I never felt the family was in any real danger or any harm for coming to them. Stop overcompensation this trash and point out the writing flaws as you do with every horror film you review.
Yes, a lot of it did not line up or make sense. The character’s’ behavior did not match the severity of the situation many times. The tether thing is a very big stretch. What are the duplicates motives? To kill he originals and hold hands? This movie really fell flat to me, didn’t make sense, I couldn’t buy into it, and was disappointing. The ending twist doesn’t really add anything to the story and makes it even more confusing. Okay, they switched. But the original end sup being psycho and he copy is normal, so what we feel about the characters doesn’t change
Sorry to say, Jordan Peele disappointed with this movie. It is not bad, but it is vastly inferior to Get out.
For me, the biggest plot hole was how the rabbits fed themselves. I saw no containers of rabbit food nor vegetation in the underground area; Everything was pretty pristine all things considered. (Lack of bathrooms bothered me too)
The more I turn this movie over in my mind the more of a shitshow it seems like to me.It hinges on a completely absurd and scientifically impossible premise. At least imdber's are smarter than critics. It's going to be at a sub-7 rating in less than a year.
Awesome film. We've been inundated with wall to wall garbage for too long. I can't wait for Jordans next venture.
The entire movie was a metaphor, don't take it all for its literal self. The duality i.e. clones of people in the movie was a commentary on a few things like keeping up with the Jonses, mental health, etc.. And US' culture, how if you don't fit in that box you're cast aside. When they said, we're Americans. How hands across america was supposed to magically fix all of our isms in 1 moment.
the plot of the movie is full of holes... didn't like the movie
