  • The new Palm Phone PVG100 is so small that it fits in your palm. Literally. But how does it work as a phone? In my Palm Phone review, we take a look at the device that everyone calls a "companion phone". If you want to learn more or order your own you can do so here:

No one, including the Best Buy Techs and the Verizon store techs know anything about this phone. Yes, the PVG100 that you are unboxing is meant to be used as a companion phone. Who the *&^% wants a companion phone. The PVG100 S (letter S) is a stand alone phone. Same phone but stand alone and it is great! Instead of lugging that standard phone around you can slip Palm S phone into your wallet, your shirt pocket etc.. and not lug around the big phones. As for use it has everything; messaging, phone, calendar MS Office products, I use Excel spreadsheets extensively when I am on the road, super easy to see and use.
So, stop getting stuck on the companion phone, tell the world about the S model; a great standalone phone with great visuals and sound (identical to the one you are reviewing but STAND ALONE).

PALM really needs to believe in their S product, advertise the Palm S, educate the phone techs about this product and drop the companion phone.

I bought this phone to do the same. I use my sony XZ1 compact for work when I tavel, but for everything else I've used the palm phone. I purchased the mophie juice case which gets ya one full charge. The mophie case doesnt hinder the use of the phone in any way.
Haven't tried wireless charging with the case yet, but over all I am happy with my purchase.
Along side this I use a Pebble time Steel running Rebble OS :) which also keeps me from looking at my phone. My watch comes with voice dictation for a $3 a month subscription. I will say this phone won't be for everyone, but if you are conscious of your phone use and want to change your ways, I found this to be the first step in literally taking a step back to enjoying life not being glued to a smartphone.

Interesting phone. I hate all the contemporary phones as none of them are compact. Do you think this can be a good daily driver? I am a mathematics teacher who doesn't use all the apps. I use outlook, whatsapp and facebook app occasionally. But I will be away from a power socket for long time in a day.

I use this as a daily from time to time. Life mode which shuts notifications off while the screen is off. Batter life is the one thing I am super conscious about, but with the mophie juice pack (which allows for wireless charging) and a whatever portable wireless charger (5amp preferred I think) you can easily last all day. Also selfie camera is decent and the back camera is 12megapixel day time shooting is decent, but night time shooting is hahaha whatever it is.

@Plug & Play Reviews thanks for the reply. Now that there is an available extra battery case for this phone, I am more leaned towards buying the phone.

If you are a light user yes you could use this as a main phone however if you use it much you will run into a battery issue which is tough. I would recommend considering this case if you plan to use it as your main phone amzn.to/2WeUUmc

@Plug & Play Reviews I'm pretty excited for it, I'm not going to lie. The phone is ip68, so for me it's ideal for running and that's why I got it so I can call 911 if needed.
