This was just months before Packer started WSC. Most, if not all of this Australian team had already signed in total secrecy, including Tony Greig, the England Captain, who was also a main recruiter for Packer. Thank God for Packer who brought ODI cricket to life with coloured kits and day/night matches.
The 100 comes up . . . . . In the 44th over ?!?! 😂
In those days the difference between Test matches and ODI's was minimal (only in the last 10-12 overs would there would be a noticeable shift in the run rate). Today the difference between Test cricket and ODI's is as marked as the difference between Rugby Union and Rugby League.
No fielding restrictions of any kind
Why didnt Graham Gooch play this ODI? He debut in 1975
he played in the 76 series against the Windies but was only recalled to stay in the side in 1978
Fantastic video and thanks
