- Now that we've learned how to make a pizza in 5 minutes there's no going back. This is what lunch we're having every day for the foreseeable future. Maybe we'll alternate making the cheats 20 minute pizza and traditional 1 hour pizza for dinner everyday too. That's not too much pizza...right?

Normally one can tell when there might be some solid Bennuendos in a video. Such as when there is something to do with sausage or creaming, ect. But this was pizza. Pizza is fairly mundane, at least in terms of sexual innuendos. But man did Ben have some good ones in this video. I was caught off guard a few times and literally almost spit out what I was drinking. I love Bennuendos. It's still so unbelievable that he doesn't even know he's doing them. Even after almost 10 years on youtube. Still amazing.

Putting a crust, the actual raised edge, on your pizza will help you transfer it without wrecking everything. Also, just looking at it from here, I think your dough might be a little soft.

We've made probably hundreds of tortilla pizzas. Great quick snacks for lunch or whatever.
CHEAT NUMBER 4: Freeze your doughs and plan ahead. If I want to eat pizza after work, I simply drop frozen dough from a freezer in a morning and when I get home I can start rightaway. If you have tomato sauce of some sort or if you are making it without cooking, then It takes 20 minutes, no need for premade dough, like they use. 10 minutes preparation and about 10 minutes baking in 250°C in normal weak oven. If you are prepared, you can exceed their 20 minute pizza in matter of taste, just plan ahead. 1 hour pizza is not good. Dough need more time.
CHEAT NUMBER 5: I usually make pizza dough while I am cook something else which does not need so much attention, so I save time there as well.
You can make dough in less than 7minuttes. Just mix flour, oil, salt, and water... mix it for 5minns and 2 minns for rolling it out. Before this, put a pakket of chooped tomatoes in a pan with some fresh basil, garlic, salt, water and oil and let This cook while making the dough. Put some fresh mozzarella om top, let it cook in the oven at 250°c for about 10minuttes and put some serano ham, olive oil, and fresh basil on top
And Thats less than 20minuttes
Wait.. Only 1 hour for a "traditional" pizza? I spend *way* more than that. First 24 hours of slowly rising (cold fermenting) in the fridge as a large ball, then another 24 hours as pizza-sized balls after degassing the dough once. If you let the yeast act too fast it'll ferment all the complex sugars away, which are like 99% of the crusts flavor.
Once that's done, and you're ready to actually make the pizza, make sure the dough gets to room temp before trying to shape it (I tend to take the dough out around 2 hours before).
That long fermentation process gives you plenty of time to prepare a good garlic oil to go with it, as well as making a good tomato sauce from scratch.

I've been using tortillas for a long time, but the key is to blind bake the tortilla before adding the toppings. That way, you don't burn the cheese waiting for the crust to crisp.

If you donât have time you just donât make pizza. Simple. You eat something else.
Itâs like running for 1 minutes and then saying âwell this is not a bad workout if you donât have time for a workoutâ.
Mix your dried yeast, sugar and dried herbs in with your warm water, leave them to sit for a few minutes while you measure and mix the flour and salt. You'll get happier yeast and less chance of still dry herbs.

Donât want orange sauce on the pizza? Blitz tomatoes before putting them into the saucepan. Or, you can do what I like to and not cook the sauce for pizza. Just crush some whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes, and salt and whatever else you want and that goes on the pie. Very simple but very delicious

I've occasionally made the tortilla pizza for 30 years, to add a thickness to the pizza, stack two or more tortillas with sauce between them for a budget version and mozzarella between for a better flavored crust. I use a thick spaghetti sauce for my pizza. I eventually leveled up to homemade crust but this is great for a quick meal.
I don't actually laugh out loud often, but that Dad joke did it.
FYI: in the US, strong flour is called bread flour. Higher gluten content.

4:39 - I worked for Dominos and Pizza Hut during college, and if we were DEAD, we did this, although we ran them through the oven for a minute or so. Also, try thin crust (as in Dominos style thin) with BBQ sauce, pulled chicken or pork, and cheddar cheese!

I make those 5 minute tortilla pizzas all the time. I just coat both sides of the tortilla with oil cause it makes it a little more crispy. You can also use Corn Tortillas (for those of you who are Gluten Free) and it tastes fine but with a flour one it tastes like a really really thin crust pizza.

Best pizza sauce. 1 can (400g) of whole tomatoes, I use italian. 7g~ of salt, 10g of olive oil. Bleand all that up. Add one crushed clove of garlic and some basil leaves. Let it sit in fridge preferably overnight and remove the clove of garlic before use. I usually make this at the same time I make dough, next day I will have everything ready to make pizza. If you have some salty ingredients on pizza I would go for less salt, I use this for margarita. Also depends on how much sauce you use.
My dough is 500g of 00 flour, 325g/ml water, 1/2 tsp of salt mixed with the four and about 5g of dry yeast. Makes 4 pizzas. I usually put 300ml of cool water on one container, and on smaller container I put 25ml of warm water, yeast and just a tiny bit of sugar to activate yeast.
Also, honey as topping is awesome. You could put sweetness on either dough or sauce, but I found that when you use something like honey or agave syrup before pizza goes into oven it tastes better. Or you could just prinkle some sugar, never done that though.
The only type of fruit that belongs on a pizza are tomatoes.
I don't think I would call all those methods doing it from scratch.
None of these sadly could be called pizza. I've loved this show for years, but as Italian and Neapolitan I can't agree with this recipes. Sad

I don't know if you can get it everywhere, but Fleischmanns sells a thirty minute pizza yeast that only takes thirty minutes to make a pizza with dough from scratch, 12-15 of those minutes being cooking time. It's pretty dang good dough too, I use it for things that are also not pizza like the base for eggs in a muffin tin or homemade hot stuffs
