They actually listed the Ford Talladega with a 426 CI motor? SMDH! 426 is a Chrysler motor! The Talladega's came with 427's & later Boss 429's!

The efficiency of a race car is how well the back wheels stick to the road at start off. It is not sound or how much smoke you want to produce from your tires, going no where. The efficiency of a muscle car is how fast it can START off the starting line. More spin, lost time. The power to weight ratio also pay a critical key. Is it too much weight being pulled around from the engine? Or is the car weighing down the engine?
The Porsche 911 became so dangerous because the power of the strong engine was lifting the front wheels off the ground. The Porsche 928, it had a V8 engine was on the American roads to replace it at the same the the Volkswagen Rabbit hit the American roads. What saved the Porsche 911 was a reverse wing under the car to suck the car to the road. It was an air jam under the poorly designed car which saved the Porsche 911. People hated the Rabit because it replace an over priced car with a poor heater. The VW Rabbit brought America crumple zones and smaller and more fuel efficient cars. The Chrysler K car developed by the man who restructured a failed auto company also introduced the mini-van. The poor decision of GM to capitalize on the mini-van killed the van craze.
What killed off Detroit? The United Auto Workers with its constant striking for higher wages. The police departments made Motown unsafe rather than keeping it safe for future growth.
The Chevrolet Vega single handily created the EPA, the power sap of the 70's and a blood red moon seen for days during day light hours in the Los Angeles, California area. The worst car ever built and put into production was the Chevrolet Vega. Not one of all the Vegas ever made had all of its recalls taken care. of. When the Chevrolet Vega was dropped from production, the air in Los Angeles, CA cleared up rather quickly. It stayed "clean" ever since.
The Chevrolet Corvair took all the shame of the auto industry. There was nothing wrong with a Corvair, except for a recall could have corrected the smoking in the heater. The author had to write about something. He just criticized a car he bought it from Detroit, everybody complains about something. People loves to complain about something, It was Ralph Nader that complained about his new purchase. He should have bought a Vega instead. He would have had an entire bookshelf to complain about, and still be writing the next book.

The boats on the roads during the 1970's was due to to making the cars safer. The Vega's Fu#k up sapped the power out of them. The best "sports car" on the road was a Datsun 280z. It could out preformed a Chevy Corvette at the time, and cheaper too. The same person behind the GTO also created the Chevy Vega, John DeLorean. The Vega was the DeLorean's Delight. Back to the Future,...
Is history written by a gag writer?

The DeTomaso will never be forgotten!! I remember seeing many of these cars tearing up the roads back in the early 80's. Except for that Mustang wagon. That was a total abomination. A Prelude to the disgraced Pinto.

I've wanted that Mangusta since that early 90's movie about the drug runners. It was a yellow one and I _hated_ yellow cars until I saw that thing! That car also lead me to the Pantera GT5s (another dream car of mine).

I’ve been a big mustang fan my whole life. When I was a teenager I was fully against the idea of a mustang wagon. Now that I’ve owned a few, and have gotten much older I think it would be terry cool. Drive a mustang, but still have room to haul smaller things. Sounds good to me. I’m also into hearses. Perhaps a Mustang hearse?? 🤔

The Mangusta was pretty and fast in a straight line. Do NOT take (or try to take...) a curve at high speed. The suspension set-up was terrible.

8 cars that you have never seen. I think if its not produced and sold in america that shouldn't count, and if its a concept car that really doesn't count either.. Some of the cars on your list could never be forgotten , the cyclone, Talladega , Demon and Belvedere . The Pantera is another that is iconic just not that particular model. The Laguna, and ventura were not muscle cars just Gm trying to hold onto a dying market trend. I don't think the laguna did not come with the 454 . I think the 350 is the largest engine you could get in those cars. i don't agree with your definition of muscle car and not sure how many people out there would . A sticker sayiing GTO doesn't make it a muscle car. The daytona's and chargers of the 80's with the 2.2 litre 4 bangers were quick for those years but they were not worthy of the name they were wearing., and by no meaans muscular by any definition.

Manufacturers need to bring back the old car designs. They would SELL quicker than they could be built. I’m tired of looking at ALL these shitty DULL designed generic cars of today, they ALL look the same. DARE to be different.
