Ew... Why would I want to hand over my money to a bunch of for-profit corporations to look after? What the hell? They already have enough power over people's lives. How tf is it even a blockchain if it isn't public?
As if the corporate welfare state run by the oligarchic 1% wasn't enough, now Mark Zuckerberg is trying to implement an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent corporate dictatorship through the internet. F*ck off.

    I think ,
Facebook Libra is an Application blockchain principle
    Information transparency, openness
    unicom's global currency
    direct cross-border, transfer, exchange currency...
    become the base currency system

The difference between Libra coins and other digital currencies,
Libra is the equivalent currency of an entity asset.
Digital currency is the virtual currency of digital assets.
Simply speaking, it’s like to China’s Alipay.

The complexity, lack of oversight and volatility is what has kept Bitcoin and Ethereum from ever becoming more than a cashcow for GPU makers and a hobby for miners. Libra keeps the Good, No cost transactions, Ubiquitous availability, and Blockchain security while removing other cryptocurrencies negatives like extreme value fluctuations. China has gone Cashless, it's time we caught up.

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

  • Jeremy Andrews

I don't understand how this is legal. This is basically Facebook making their own currency to get around banking regulations, isn't it? I don't see why this should be legal just because they aren't physically coining money. I think it may even be unconstitutional. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 5 in the US Constitution grants Congress the power to "To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures," and they vested all that power in the Federal Reserve. Why should we just allow a private company to create their own currency and use that instead of the US Dollar? One of the reasons Bitcoin and the like are currently tolerated is that they're most often viewed as investments and speculation, Libra is different... it's unambiguously a digital currency. I mean, if they let Facebook do this, it could potentially replace the dollar as the world's reserve currency, limit the ability of the government to collect taxes, and challenge the power of the Federal Reserve. Write your congressman and ask them to ban cryptocurrency or something, this is ridiculous and can't be allowed to continue.

And certainly I don't want FB to decide who get to spend his/her money. FB is already arbitrary censoring people from social media for its corporate interests, what is it going to do with its cryptocurrency? Oh and Mastercard and PayPal are into it... now I feel reassured! (
