A New Claas Combine Harvesting!

  • Published on Nov 17, 2019
  • Harvesting Corn With a New Claas Combine. Ziegler CAT brought out a new Claas 760 combine for us to try out over the weekend for our corn harvest. My buddy Jon and I spent some time setting it up and then the next day we went wide open with it. So far it's been good but there have been a couple of hiccups along the way. I give you my thoughts on the machine so far and let you come with me while we harvest. Thank you to everyone for the opportunity!

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

The 780s with the Mercedes engine, what a awesome machine. Some times we could go 2 long days on a tank of fuel. And combined wheat in the snow with 1% loss

Do you use spreaders or choppers on your combines..My tenant uses spreaders on his combines. He says choppers are too expensive to maintain he runs John Deere combines and tractors raises both corn beans and rice here in Arkansas

Your videos are helpful especially for a first time farmer like myself, this summer I might get to run a combine for the first time along with a swather, I started after harvest last summer and ran a hay rake day and night but I’m excited nonetheless

I see that the Claas combine had a Geringhoff header on it. How did you like it? Or was it tough to tell with a brand new machine what difference the Geringhoff made? We should set up a demo with a Geringhoff during 2020 harvest.

Ok you know as well as we know a brand new machine should preform flawlessly. A smaller auger is a bad thing because it might be lighter. It certainly sounds quiet

you have just started running a combine. once you get that green out of your eyes you will learn what a real combine is. set properly it will do a better job faster than your deere. that combine has the worlds record for most bushels combinend. it is the top one period.

I love the 760 Lexion. I ran 1 for 2 seasons here in the CA rice harvest. That machine can't be beat for its throughput, and also the fact that you can see what is going through the return elevator from the cab. With almost all separator functions being able to be changed on the fly. Plus the fact you can take small grain samples going into the bin on the fly. You simply can't beat the separator adjustments. Enough said.
