other than the main characters of the stark family, i've never liked the stark men...the stark men were the ones brienne killed for 'two quick deaths'...the bolton's were also 'stark men' until roose betrayed them...locke and his crew were also shit rapers...i don't really have a good opinion of the men in the north...the lannister 'men' are a mixed bag of the hound and merran trant and ed sheeran lol...

@MonsieurAufziehvogel budget constraints was a red herring HBO offered 5 more seasons and GRRM has mentioned that they basically could have had a much larger budget if they wanted.

18:43 Jaime actually redeemed himself, he changed, but not entirely. He wasn't supposed to become a white knight and have a happy ending. His death with cersei was foreshadowed through the seasons and by their bond. (I would also have loved an ending with Cersei becoming a mad queen and planning to kill a lot of people, leaving Jaime no other choice than to kill her to prevent a massacre. But he would still have been in love with her and would have died in the process)

17:50 of course that cersei's baby was Jaime's, she was pregnant way before sleeping with euron, that's even the reason why she could allow herself to sleep with euron without fear of getting pregnant of him and use the pregnancy to manipulate him after that.

I've said for many seasons that Danny isn't a good person. I haven't read the books so it helps me to know the characters on the show, without being clouded by the people from the books, who aren't the same.
She's always just done what she wanted, and when she was held off by a friend, it was only IF they end whatever it is she wants ended, else she'll take over and burn it all.
I could have told you she was going to burn everyone for many years now. It was very obvious.
The show is rushed, most especially at the end, but her character is what it is. It's not random or out of nowhere.
I never thought she was a hero. Her being a hero in the end would be something that would catch me off guard, and I very much hope the books subvert the seemingly obvious.
I disagree that it all meant nothing though. You can grow and still end with a fragment of your past being held tight.

I thought you were too kind but maybe it was just that you were too subtle in being critical of episode 5. Just to point out a few things. Daenerys threatened to burn the first city you mentioned because her people were starving. She was in a tough spot there rather than looking over a near complete military victory. But I don't believe Daenerys would really be going mad.
If you look it went against both the kind and the vengeful parts of her nature. She ignored going after Cersei (whom she should want revenge against) in order to attack peasants (whom she should want to protect).
You also gave her advisors too much credit. She often did brave or kind things against their advise. She chose to free more slaves when Jorah told her it would slow her down. She chose to chain her dragons to avoid innocent deaths when Daario told her not to. Correct me if I'm wrong but it was Daario's idea to threaten the heads of the noble houses in Meereen she agreed with it. But then refused to go with Daario's idea to start killing noble houses in order to consolidate power and wealth to herself-she said she is not a "butcher" to him. And Tyrion didn't want her to try to rescue Jon in Season 7.
Daenerys relies on and listens to her advisors a lot. But she still has her own internal morality. It was her (not Tyrion) that decided the Greyjoys had to give up raiding, pillaging, and raping in order to make an alliance with her.
She kept this internal morality despite all the pain and brutality she suffered through in the seasons before season 8. This is why I find season 8 all the more unbelievable and untrue to her character.
I appreciate you were probably trying to me mostly neutral and explain this episode as best you saw it. I see the episode as a betraying characters.

Any time Dany kills hundreds of thousands of innocent people, it should be on accident. Like her conquest of Essos. Not on purpose, like her conquest of Westeros.
    Jeez, these showrunners are awful.

I strongly disagree with Jamie being a failure.
His redemption arc was complete, after fighting for the dawn at Winterfell. After that, having restored his honor, he went to save his sister and his unborn child - whoever those may be to the rest of the world, no one can blame him for that - and died exactly the way he wanted to die.

Quick correction here, Dany hasn't been learning to rule for 7 seasons, she's mostly been conquering. She was lost and unhappy during her brief period trying to rule Mareen and basically only succeeded in reopening the fighting pits. She started getting her groove back once the Dothraki reminded her that she likes fire and blood. I don't think Varys was wrong to turn against Dany at all, it's just that it (like most things this season) happened way too quickly so we didn't get to see the build up to it. It was way too fast.
It's strange but the thing that annoys me the most about this episode is that we specifically see Varys writing letters revealing Jon's parentage and then that NEVER ends up being a plot thread for the rest of the series. No one at the council meeting mentions his name, no one argues that they should or should not have him as leader because of said name--it's just never mentioned ever again and by extension kind of makes Varys' death feel pointless. He died for paper that had no discernable affect on anything.

Thank you for illustrating the Failings of D&D. You showed some of the huge failings of story and character arcs.
The only thing I will point out is that the Dothraki said they can not be blood riders for a woman. In their code whoever kills the leader they become
The leader so if anything they would support Jon. Thank you for showing the manipulative side of Sansa. Jon was given the shaft. His character arc was meaningless! Arya as Frodo is more accurate then Jon being Frodo as many supposed. To me Jon was used and abused by everyone in the show and the Starks continued to abuse him as they did as the bastard of Winterfel. The whole R+L=J was a complete waste. The show is supposed to be similar to Lord of the Rings. Well then Jon should have been Aragorn. He could have abdicated to Bran and that would have made more sense. Bran is ridiculous on every level! The character assassinations was so horrible. Sadly, D&D proved to be poor writers. They did Not have to end the series as the books but if they wanted to then they should have made a better effort in the ending. Bran as an evil tree is AWESOME and Perfect! Thank you for this video you ROCK!

@Inês Fareleiro We;;. Matin's going to a convention in august that he doesn't usually go to, which could mean he's going to signing copies of The Winds of Winter. And a while back he said that he likes to write completely away from the world, and that recently he's been doing that. After he said that, he said that the book would be finished in late 2018 or early 2019, which in George Martin language means late 2019.

I don't know, I'm really not sure of anything, but I REALLY, REALLY want this book.
