It should not be popping like that. I have one and never heard anything in mine. I have a regular American plug so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Hmm

There is this one from Revlon, however not sure of the voltage but as long as it is distributed in the UK then it is 220v (800w)
And there is this one which I purchased 220v (1000w)

    • arafah shahnaz
      arafah shahnaz 5 months ago

malak Salama hi! Where did you purchase the 220v one?

    • malak Salama
      malak Salama 5 months ago

THe same happened to me, I’m in Libya and our voltage is 220v but in the USA they go with 110v
It made this popping sound and eventually it burned :(
I purchased a new one with 220v and waiting for it to be delivered and see how it would work

  • Ashley Goehrung

Just a tip. You should use a Wet Brush on your hair after you wash it. It's less damaging and doesn't pull on your hair as much due to the more flexible bristles it has. It's a life saver, I actually resorted to using mine daily on dry hair as well.

The popping could be because of the difference in voltage. I can’t use mine because we use 220v here in Manila.

I've read the comments for this Revlon dryer on Amazon and they are all bad. I bought a similar one from another brand and it was awesome. It's better for sectioned hair. Pulling it back then letting it fall forward gives you the volume. Love your hairπŸ₯°πŸ₯°

  • Isabella Le'Sage
    Isabella Le'Sage 6 months ago

Girl this blow dryer is only supposed to be used in the USA. It's not dual voltage, so that's why it's popping and if you keep using it it will eventually burn and it might be dangerous for you. You should return it and see if you can get a refund. Be safe

  • Jessica Piper
    Jessica Piper 6 months ago

I have this tool and love it! It is loud but it drys my hair so much faster than a regular blow dryer and if you section your hair and kind of roll the barrel as you’re drying you will get the volume.

    Hi Shan,
I bought two with an American plug and each time it began with that popping noise and then that squeal noise and then it wouldn’t work any more, I ended up sending them back through Amazon and got one through EBay with and AU plug, it’s been great, so I think yes the voltage might be an issue :)

  • Meg Hicks
    Meg Hicks 7 months ago

The popping is 100% a voltage issue. Mine did the same and after about a minute it fried it πŸ˜‚
The voltage difference between the tool and the outlets is too big.

  • The Architects Daughter

Section off your hair at the top and place brush under hair and blow it out then curl up from bottom to root just like a blow out. You only applied the brush to mid to ends of your hair so I have no idea if it would really work lol. Good luck

my hairbrush comes from Toni and guy its awesome cost me $24 dollars but I reckon its one of my best buys for march 2019

I have the same Revlon product and Yes, it does sound like that. You do have to section the hair and start at the root. Give it another try and don't freak out so much when you use it. It will not burn your hair. You will get volume if you start with sectioning and from the root.

πŸ“’πŸ“’πŸ“’PSA DO NOT USE HIGH VOLTAGE APPLIANCES FROM THE US!πŸ“’πŸ“’πŸ“’ I have this dryer and I love it. The problem is you guys are buying the ones from the US, they are 110v and when you use a travel adapter on high voltage items like hair dryers you seriously risk a FIRE!πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Buy it from ebay from the UK, those are 220v like Australia and NZ.

  • Sammy Farbrother
    Sammy Farbrother 7 months ago

Shannon section your hair! Your not doing it right so you wont get more volume the way you are using it. Do it in 3 or 4 layers and you will get better results.
